Multi award winner / drummer / arranger / band leader/author Ronnie Bottomley talks about the roller coaster life that he has lead, the good and the not so good times, the highs and the despairing lows.
He has been a mill chimney sweeper, worked on both branches of the railway, a sailor in the Royal Navy, a potato porter in Covent Garden, a fish porter’s assistant at Billingsgate, a postman in Stoke Newington, a road sweeper round the Archway in Holloway Road, a bus conductor in Dewsbury, worked in the coal mine sinking a pit shaft in Thornhill, Dewsbury, a long distance lorry driver for Joe Lyons ice cream in Leeds, a hairdresser and salesman for Raymond (Mr. Teasy-Weasy) Bessone OBE in Mayfair, before finally becoming a professional musician and later a college lecturer at the Leeds College of Music.
