As Yorkshire Cancer Research celebrates its 100th year come and hear the most interesting and fascinating story of Henrietta Lacks the person who started the research into cancer and it’s treatments. Her childhood on a tobacco plantation in the 1920’s and her short adult life due to cervical cancer. Her cancer cells were used for research which started the insight into research. This has had a huge impact and breakthrough on medical research. 100years on this year the development in diagnosis and treatment of many forms of cancer is amazing.
